ANOTHER WONDERFUL & BLISSFUL YEAR...

.

1 March 2010... 36 years ago in a small hut somewhere in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, a pretty young, lovely, charming and caring mother gave birth to a cute, adorable and handsome son...... Me. She was a teacher and dad was the State Development Officer in Negri Sembilan in 1974.

Mother was only 24 years old... still hot & adorable then and still is now at 62 years of age. Too hot that less than a year later.... Melor Edina Pahamin was born depriving my quality time with mother. Dad!!!!!

Mother and dad was not the only one that was the happiest when I was born but Chempaka Emalin Pahamin, the eldest too could not keep her hand off me. She would take me everywhere to play.. even to share her teddy bear.. (Eeek.. ). Chempaka Emalin has always been the household story-teller and sometimes we were stuck at the dinner table for hours listening to her stories.. If she does not tell tale, she will nag and nag.. (stick tongue out). ...but we do enjoy the tale (big smile).

This sister... Melor Edina Pahamin whom is only 11 months younger than me is the most 'Manja' in the family. Now all her 4 children inherited her character (slap my forehead, aiyoo).

When we were growing up, Melor was the closest to me being only a few months apart.. and could not understand why we had to be in separate class everytime we went to school. When we moved to Petaling Jaya from Kedah in 1986, I brought her on her first day at school when Dad and Mum had to attend to my other siblings and in that year almost beaten  up a guy who paid interest in her. Was so over-protective, I was 12 years old then. She was always with me until I left for London. I will visit her almost weekly while she was studying the International Baccallaureate in some jungle @ Banting. Then she left to live in another jungle @ the University Aberythswyth, Wales which I frequented but not as regular as when she was in Banting. I did not know how she survived in Aber until I found out later, that she was not there alone.. she had Rhiza Ghazi.. now the beloved and gentlement husband. No wonder she can easily fit in our house in some jungle @ Penchala.. she had good training in Banting and Aber.

Then in 1979..... Dr Teratai Edithy was born... Hmm.. yesss.. thats her (in the left picture).. the Bulat'est baby.. but now she is already slim... I think.

Now there's four of us... This sister, at the youngest age, always took care of us. When she was young, before she learn to prescribe medicine and diagnosing sickness as a doctor, she will always serve us 'seniors' food.... Eerr...Is that bullying?

When I was first admitted in General Hospital for Leukaemia, she was the only one that jumped to hug me and cried profusely screaming don't leave her, thinking that I am going to die. Other siblings probably secretly cried in the toilet.

In 1982.. came this sweet small adorable sister (on mum's lap)... Rose Emini Pahamin whom had grew up to became a certified accountant... but not the typical 'Square-Type' accountant. The party type of accountant.

Rose Emini was my not only my life Saviour being the Bone-marrow donor for my bone marrow transplant but she is now my partner's in crime!!! in most of the things that we do...!!!! yaa.. we are more or less of the same age now. Sometimes, I think she is older when she 'burn-out' faster than me (big grin).

Then came the youngest in the family.. Amnan Bazli born in 1985... some party animal whom are now happily enjoying his life in London.

When he was at school........ I had to rescue him many times from the school disciplinary teacher and from some gang-fight. Sheeesh.. I wanted to scold and beat him up for his notoriety but... I was like that too. So I am sure he will grow out of it... hopefully soon.

On my birthday today....... I am thankful beyond word to Dad, Mum and Sibilings whom had showered me with so much care, love and affection. I could not help but to smile and laugh reminiscing our growing up moment and what we grew up to become. Family values is indeed priceless. To grow up and be surrounded by loving and caring family members is God-gift. We had our fair share of sacrifices when growing up which I will forever reminisce and cherish.

Nawal Aini Zulkifli, whom tirelessly and patiently stood by me with all the flaw and sickness that a man can have and to bear me with the most adorable Aaraf Armin, only Allah swt can ever repay the loyalty, commitment and sacrifices. She bake for Dad, Melor and me her signature home-made chocolate birthday cake which... ironically, destroyed my well-preserved diet... its impossible to resist!!

I am grateful too, to be showered with wonderful friends and closest of relatives. Relatives and Friends whom asked for nothing except friendship and relationship. Relatives and Friends whom would stood through thick and thin and through happiness and sorrow. Relatives and Friends whom unite as one family.

To all relatives and friends whom took the trouble to buy presents & gifts, cards, email, sms, called and drop me a note to wish me a Happy and Merry Birthday....... I appreciate the gesture and will remember your kind prayer, Doa and greetings. To name a few.......

SNAPSHOTS @ SALAM MAULIDURRASUL, TAHLIL AND DOA SELAMAT

.

We held a Tahlil, Dzikir and Marhaban at our house on 26 February 2010 to commemorate Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birthday, prayers for our Allahyarham and Allahyarhamah relatives and Doa Selamat for my dad, Pahamin A Rajab's birthday (23 February), my sister Melor Edina Pahamin (26 February), Nawal Aini Zulkifli (4 Mac) and mine (1 March). We had a small combined celebration and prayers instead of the normal party celebration.

It was raining heavily, our guests arrived before 7pm to gather for Maghrib prayer but our invited
Imam, Ustaz Ropi & Co from Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh were lost and arrived shortly before 8pm.

We invited about 150 relatives and closest friends but more than 150 came. The most senior, my Grand Uncle Tok Su Daud came too with his battalion. So did uncles and aunties all the way from Kelantan.

Amongst some friends were Natasya Foo from Fasfik. From Bootcamp, Dr Malek Aziz, Farhanah Bamadhaj, Danial Ismail, Ili Liyana Baharon, Nyna Mohsen, Ilyanna Ayob, Abu Lais Walli Mohamed, Anita Ahmad etc etc....

After the Maghrib prayer, we recited the Surah Yassin, Dzikir and Marhaban followed by the Doa selamat.

We recited the surah Yasin and performed Tahlil for Allahyarham(s) and Allahyarhamah(s):

1) Mohamad bin Ab Rashid
2) Abd Razak bin Abd latiff
3) Selamah bt Awang
4) Ramli bin Mohamad
5) Fatimah bin Abu Bakar
6) Mahadi Bin Razak
7) Ruqaiyah Hanim Tun Hussein

After the tahlil, we had Doa Selamat in conjunction with Pahamin A Rajab's (23 February) birthday, Melor Edina Pahamin's Birthday (23 February), Nawal Aini Zulkifli (4 March) and My Birthday (1 March). We pray for a longer, healthier, happier and prosperous life. Then we had the Marhaban and Isya' prayer before a big sinful feast.

My mother... Prayer, Doa and mother's love superseded anything and everything else. I love you mum.

There were varieties of food and delicacies from Kelantan Nasi Kerabu, Laksa Kelantan, Laksam, Pulut Kuning,  ayam percik, solok lada, sambal belacan, budu (haa!! fav!), Nasi putih, gulai kawah, dalcar, sambal petai, ikan tenggiri sweet sour, roast lamb, lompat tikam, talam ubi, curry puff, akok, kuih bingka, kek lapis, mandarin orange, rendang, teh tarik, and fruit punch but Photographer Rose Emini was busy eating and did not take food-photos.

Finally the cake-cutting ceremony...........  February & March is a hectic month. My dad's birthday on 23 February, 3-DAYS later, Melor's Birthday on 26 February, 3-DAYS later, My Birthday on 1 March, 3-Days later Nawal Aini Zulkifli's Birhday on 4 March, 3-DAYS later, Nawal's Mum Birthday on 7 March.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME....

The Birthday Girl Melor Edina & Mohammed Rhiza Ghazi with Rafel Zicry Onn. Today is Melor's actual birthday. My dad's 3-days belated and my 3-days advance celebration.

and on my birthday............ the same as last year, see Birthday 2009, an advance notification for a please NO-GIFT & PRESENT year too but I will be most grateful if you include me in your prayers instead. Thank you very much in advance for the prayer and greetings. May Allah swt bless you with good health and wealth. Amin.

SKYTREX ADVENTURE: TAMAN PERTANIAN MALAYSIA

21 February 2010.... "Dont forget tomorrow, we are gathering first before the Sky Trek at 10am for a breakfast picnic at the Taman Pertanian, Bukit Bandaraya..." reads my Blackberry Chat message from Rose Emini Pahamin. "Err.. Sh@@t... Did I confirm and RSVP to participate?" I thought to myself. I remember replying  'Not sure' last month when everybody was planning.

It turn out there were two cancellations and we were 'automatically' slotted in...  and here we are at the Taman Pertanian at Shah Alam at 10:15am.

I did not have a clue who were suppose to be here, but I reckon the normal crowd, Dr Malek Aziz, Farhanah Bamadhaj, Rose Emini (of course), Nyna Mohsen, Ili Liyana Baharon etc etc would be here for sure.....

As we enter, we had to pay RM1 for car park, and RM3.00 for entrance fee as well as register with the Ranger before we were allowed inside.

We took a Vehicle-Pass to drive-in... without it, we will have to leave the car at the car park area and take the shuttle bus in.

Shortly later, everybody else arrived... 29 of them!!! It was suppose to be 30... but SomeOne cancelled on the last minute!! Dont we just hate party spoilers...

Its a good start and everything seemed well organised with even a stall booked for our picnic.

Those in the group includes, (1) Dr Malek Aziz, (2) Farhanah Bamadhaj, (3) Lizza Abdul Rahim, (4) Farrah Vivien Racquet, (5) Ilyanna Ayob, Audrey, (6) Rose Emini Pahamin, (7) Suriana Saiful, (8) Ili Liyana Baharon, (9) Peggy Hoegh, (10) Shobha Bala, (11) Shammy Ooi, (13) Wai-Yee Chan (14) RJ Vinod,

(15) Tricia Especkerman, (16) Shamil Tan, (17) Faizal Ariff Abdullah, (18) Vivien Luyen Ow, (19) Lilian Lim, (20) Tomi Soetjipto, (21) Amy Ho, (22) Natassya Lee, (23) Chun SSJ, (23) Fazura Nur Jaafar, (24) Mohd Danial Ismail, (25) Nawal Aini Zulkifli, (27) Nyna Mohsen, (28)  (29) Armin Baniaz Pahamin, (30) Suloshini Jahanath (FFK)

As we were about to settle in, Shammy Ooi gave us a form to sign... its a form that say, if we die or injured..Dont blame anybody else but us..!! a typical disclaimer form.

After signing the 'I-will-blame-myself-and-not-you' form, we eat, eat and eat......... There were homecook chicken curry puff, potato puff, NASI LEMAK, hotdog, Sardine sandwhich, Tuna Sandwhich, Butter cookies, Sponge Cake.. and many more desserts and varieties...

....and of course, this women does not waste time... and eat!! then blame Bootcamp for not losing weight!!

and there was a SURPRISE...... Its SHAMMY OOI & ILI LIYANA BAHARON BIRTHDAY...

Happy Birthday to you;
Happy Birthday to you;
Happy Birthday to Shammy & Ili...
Happy Birthday to both of you!!!!

After the food.. and singing birthday song, its time to Rawk.........

Peggy Hoegh came all
the way from Singapore....
We walked to the SkyTrek registration counter when we were briefed of the safety measure... and to buy Gloves!!

While at the Skytrek counter.......... we bumped into Cynthia Gan SSJ!! "I burned 900 Calories doing the Sky trax today" screamed Cynthia... and we were like ... Wowwww... this is great!!!

We also meet Suanie... from PJ Bootcampers. She had just completed the Extreme Challenge.. "How was it?" I asked in anticipation of as good response as Cynthia...

Suanie replied in a not so discouraging look, "Bloody tough, its Shit!!"

I was............. haaa... really?

Infact........ the whole bunch of PJ Bootcampers were here too... including The bubbly and jovial Bev Tee.. Kevin, Hafiz, Hong Sze, Tracy, Tate, Kenny, Lai Kin, Sue Ping, Kelly, Becky, Joan, Elain, Sashi, etc etc.........

Tomi Soetjipto, Nyna Mohsen, Suriana Saiful, Natassya Lee, Shammy Ooi, Rose Emini Pahamin...

Our whole team members except for Suloshini Jahanath and Danial Ismail...

After the safety briefing at the Sky Trax counter, we went to another check-point to wear the climbing gear....

The gear was compulsory and must be worn by all participants.

Wearing the gear was not easy... The Sky trax officials assisted and ensure that the gear was properly worn.

we are now all GEARED-UP ready to RUMBLE.................

We then walked to another Check-Point for another briefing............ the Third briefing!!!! half a day on briefing.......

First Check-Point/briefing was on safety.. dont wear cotton gloves..

Second Check-point/briefing was on wearing the climbing gear

Now Third briefing is on Climbing... probably the most important brief..

Instructor: It is important for anybody to remember.. that doing the Fire fly... eh... Firefox... no no.. flying fox..THERE IS NO BRAKE!!!!!

and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BREAK!!!

If you need help, just scream!! Your life is in the hand of theis device on the right..>

After the third briefing.. we all gathered at the STARTING POINT...

and reality finally kicked-in!!! To start the journey.... we had to climbed 30 feet up!!!!

Half way through the climb, I thought to myself........... Blood hell!!! WTF am I doing.... I would have preferred the walk and stroll around the park... but this!!! and started reading all the Quran verses in my heart!! It was really a scary start!!!

But some people can still smile!! though I know deep down, somebody is pissing the pant!!

There are various advantages and disadvantages of being the photographer....

The advantages includes photo-shooting the candid pictures and during climbing, lots of asses of different shapes and sizes... but had to be censored due to the 'U' or Universal rating of the blog...

The major disadvantage is .... there are less pictures of me!!!

I am on top of the world!!! err.. ok, on top of the tree... the scenery was scary.. everybody look so small!!

At the top......... we fly... like a fox!!! FLYING FOX..... and thats Dr Malek Aziz... in style!!

Somewhere up in the sky.........

This one below was the SCARIEST OBSTACLE of all the downstinking heights.... I've never felt the sudden surge of Adrenaline rush.......... until now!! I nw realize.. that I am not a big fan of height!

Natassya lee & Shobha Bala smiling for the camera, whilst all the muscles & vein popped out from Faizal Ariff's arm as he held on tight to the cable...............

Here I am trying to figure out which cable was meant for what... until Amy Ho SCREAMED... OOIIIII FASTER LAR...... ok ok....... ready or not.. (not that I have a choice) here I go..............

Well I was not the only one confuse with the long, short, fat, thin cables....

Notice the height of the tree in below pictures... There were two platform and the highest of the two platform was not the highest  point during the obstacle, there are many other platform that is higher...

A close-up view of the higher platform... Its Faizal Ariff and Natassya Lee.....

And here is another same view from far...  at one point, I had to force my grip away from gripping... The hand was like... glued to the cable.

Another close-up view from very far..... Aaaa Its Nawal Aini pretending to be brave (again)... Faizal... was short of hugging the tree...

And a close of view of another platform high up in the sky.......... was Amy Ho and Lizza Abdul Rahim...

The "Net" below is know as the Chicken-Exit... for those that wants to chicken out.. there were a few exits prepared that led straight down to the ground.. Err.. it did cross my mind.. but had to think twice especially with DBK shobha in the house!!!

The above is a taller and higher platform... we had to climb down 20 feet below... Complete madness.....

A closer-view of those at the higher platform.. Its Vivien Luyen Ow, Farrah Vivien Racquet and Ili Liyana Baharon.

After a failed attempt to be Indiana Jone.... we completed the course in... errr approximately 2 hours.... and the happiest person to be alive.. was Lizza Abdul Rahim.... after me!

We gathered back at our Picnic area.... where we continue to eat, and eat.... and camwhore

Faizal gulped a whole tank of water instead of eating..... diet ?

Some of us just 'Cangkung' sat thinking.. what did I just do...? still cant believe they became tarzan for 2 hours..........

Danial Ismail........ is that a crying or laughing face... and being speechless and in complete silent up on the trees, he finally broke silent......

thats it........... the end of our adventure........... Although freaky, scary and totally mad attempt, I had the best time discovering my 'love' for heights............ FUNTABULOUS EXPERIENCE!!

and its time to bid farewell to the Sky Trek.........

Should I come back for the next level Xtreme Challenge.................

highly unlikely...................... Its too crazy?
