A NEW BEGINNING

Most of the time I struggled juggling with the scarcity of time to write but this once, I struggled with a mental block with no pressure for time to complete. I know exactly what to write but searching for the right and proper word to avoid any misunderstanding seemed so complicated.

Yes, Nawal Aini Zulkifli and I are officially divorced on our 13th Anniversary on 23 July 2013. Coincidentally, the hearing date was given by Shariah Court after I submitted and filed for the application.

We both decided to end our marriage having grown further apart but we remained to be in good terms. Nawal and I both agree that we should not stay in a marriage and be unhappy, and deprived each other from happiness as well as from the love that the future may bring.

There were no regret in that marriage. I cherished that every moment since I courted her while she was an undergraduate at the University, and all her care and love while we were married. All the ups and down as a husband and wife shall be a valuable and a priceless lesson to both of us, to advance further in our separate life. For I am far from perfection and is full of flaws with many shortcomings.

I will always remember Nawal as a dedicated mother, a loving person and a beautiful women.

We are blessed with the best son, Aaraf which Nawal and I are both raising sincerely with pure love as a mother and father. Nawal has always been a great and a dedicated mother to Aaraf.

A ROSE AMONG THE THORNS, STAFF SERGEANT NAWAL AINI

She first attended the program as a recruit 4 years ago for 12 months in 2009 and began mentoring with the founders of the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP program, Chief Brabon and Gunny Hames in 2010 as a Lance Corporal after graduating from the Military Fitness Specialist level 1 Certification. In 2011, she was promoted to a Corporal upon obtaining her Sports Science Level 1 certificate from the National Sports Council. In 2012, she was promoted to a Sergeant and became the platoon commander for five platoons in 2013.

At the recent 2013 ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP Asia-Pacific Conference in Sydney, she was promoted by Chief & Gunny as the first Malaysian Instructor to be accredited and certified by the networks five Master Trainers and promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant which is a ranking equivalent to a senior instructor in a fitness industry. She was also named the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP International "2013 Lead Instructor of the Year” " based upon her professionalism, leadership (of both Recruits and Support Instructors) and adherence to the networks core values. She became the first Malaysian to be invited to conduct a session alongside Chief and Gunny, the founders of the 23 years old Military Inspired Bootcamp at the OBC Flagship Coogee Beach platoon in Australia.

If you hadn’t already guessed, ‘she’ is Nawal Aini Zulkifli and has joined the likes of Gunny herself as a leading female Instructor in the male dominated genre of Military inspired fitness training.  When Nawal first decided to be a Bootcamp instructor, many had their reservations. Being the only woman in a team of men, she realised that she would need to prove her value as an Instructor by being stronger and more disciplined then many of her peers.

FIGHTING FIT AND FABULOUS

Guess who made Headline at Life & Times, New Straits Times today?

Bootcamp instructor Nawal Aini Zulkifli tells Tengku Nor Azah she has found the perfect balance between a gruelling job and being a wife and mother

I GOT lost on the way to Nawal Aini Zulkifli’s house and half expected her to say: “Someone is late! Drop and give me 10 grunts!!” At the bootcamp I attended, late arrivals had to do grunts — that’s squat-extend the legs to the back-squat-stand up-jump. It’s not just to punish but also to foster teamwork among participants or recruits. One person’s tardiness results in punishment for all.

COBC PIONEER INSTRUCTOR: UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH NAWAL AINI ZULKIFLI

Nawal Aini Zulkifli is the eldest daughter in a sibling of 4. She has an elder brother, Rafiq Zulkifli whom is a year older, 2 younger brothers named Ahmad Hairi Zulkifli and Ahmad Faris Zulkifli and a younger sister, Nawal Rafeza Zulkifli. Nawal Aini graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts with Honours from the University Technology Mara in 1999.

Upon graduation, Nawal Aini had a short stint as a company secretary at a management consultancy firm in Desa Sri Hartamas and later as a Manager at a Fiat Dealership in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. She gave up her career to dedicate and devote herself to her family after giving birth to her one and only child, Aaraf. When Armin and his partners took the license for the Chief's Original Bootcamp, jokingly Nawal Aini said, "Dr Malek, Staff Sarge Dann, Farhanah Bamadhaj, Rose Emini Pahamin and even Armin Baniaz Pahamin did not give me any choice except to be an instructor because they all knew of my passion in fitness and health".

1 VISION, 1 PB, 1 RUN & 1 HECKUVATIME!!!

4 March 2012, we ran the 1Vision run in conjunction with Nawal Aini Zulkifli's birthday today at Padang Merbuk Kuala Lumpur. It was not planned but coincidentally it falls on the same date as Nawal Aini Zulkifli's birthday. A whole bunch of us from the CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP participated in the run but we were split with some of us running the World Kidney Day Run 5 minutes away at Dataran Merdeka. Rose Emini Pahamin were suppose to run with us but she went err..  her ankle became err... err see for your self in the picture below.

Rose Emini Pahamin then became our De facto papparazzi. We arrived at the starting point late when we incidentally went to the Kidney Foundation run at Padang Merdeka but was rescued by Shazni Az whom drove us to the starting line a few hundred meters away.

Rose Emini Pahamin's ankle 1 day before the 10km 1 Vision run
Our run was flagged off at 7:21am from the supposedly 7am? But of course, Chief's Original Bootcamp recruits  will never fail to first camwhore.....

HIP HIP HOOYAH!!

On behalf of Chief Brabon the founder and Managing Director of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP, Australia and Global Master Trainer, on behalf of my partner Dr Malek Aziz and Daing Daniel Fitri, with effect from today, we are pleased to announced the promotion of Nawal Aini Zulkifli, Mohd Azhari and Chun Chia Kai from the rank of Corporal at the CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP to the rank of SERGEANT having satisfied the minimum hours spend (1) conducting sessions as a Commander at 5 platoons; (2) training in Grey as recruit for the past 18 months. Nawal Aini Zulkifli has been a recruit for 6 months prior to being trained as an instructor at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP. COUNT DOWN FOR THE ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ BANDAR UTAMA

.
Since Bandar Utama was given the approval as an Original Bootcamp franchise on 27 April 2010 (known as OBC-BU), Sarge Dann has been busy training the instructors and be trained. Trainers at the Original Bootcamp must be better and fitter than all the recruits. The recruits usually comprised of a good mix of athlete whom seek to improve their performance and couch potatoes whom had never exercise before. At the Original Bootcamp, the instructors led by example and train together with the recruits instead of the conventional old fashion ways of only bossing people what to do...

For the whole month in May, on non-OBC days,  the trainers met three times a week to perfected their forms and techniques.

We learn the correct form and techniques from Chief Brabon during the Original Bootcamp Academy. There, we learn so many different forms and technique that we had to digest it slowly via our own instructors training. More often, we discounted and/or compromised our forms and techniques during training which is not acceptable to any Original Bootcamp instructors.

HAPPY MUMMY'S DAY, NAWAL AINI
