DKS7- When a pact is broken.. it became a NEW STANDARD

DKS7 = December Kiasu Session 7.
(Note: Still 100% ACE- Attendance!! Commitment!! Effort!!... 5 more sessions to go!!!)

Unfortunately our training session starts at 5:45am... ...  in complete darkness!! and Faizal had previously pre-warned that NO FLASH is allowed for taking pictures!!! So Kenny Smith is safe.... at least from the in-house Paparazzi. There are a few in-house Paparazzis @ KL Alpha...... Doc Malek, Rose Emini & Nyna Mohsein!! ...and the freelance paparazzi Me!!

At the field, Kenny was also safe from the peeping tom(s)... at 5:45am, there is negligible visibility in the morning darkness. Otherwise, there will be an eye-sight display of the hanging garden of babylon during the leg scissor abs exercise and the Jack Knife.

Today's session began with the routine warming up before the team was divided into their respective Delta, Seal and Rangers grouping.

There were three (3) well-planned pre-prepared circuit training and the Seal started with an alternate running circuit with Ms Tee Senior (aka Tali Gemuk, fat rope... ).

Corporal Jason Moriarty (in Red Tee above) a jovial but firm commander was away for a month from a fractured ankle led the Seal with our first circuit train. Jason is also a fellow blogger, See: Jason's Blog. The team was divided into two teams. One person from the first team had to hold Ms Tee's leg on the shoulder with only one hand (at point A) and single-handedly sprint-drag Ms Tee for about 50 metres to Point B and the other team at Point B will then sprint-drag Ms Tee Senior back to Point A.

Whilst waiting for the other team to Sprint-drag Ms Tee, the team-in-waiting had to perform various exercises from military sit up, Jack Knife, Side-bridges, scissor leg crossed, planking, lie down facing the grass & rotate raise one left arm & one right leg up, and lie down facing the front again & raise the head, chest with arm stretch up in the front.

We left Ms Tee drained and exhausted before going to the next circuit under Sergeant Simran... and expected killer workout with SANDra Baglock. (Sandbag). The team was divided into two teams (Alpha & Bravo) with one team partnering the other.  Whilst Alpha hugs Sandra and perform various activities with her, Bravo had to Bear-Walk from Point-A to Point B and once at Point-B, Bravo must sprint to the end of the mark and turned back and pat Alpha on the shoulder and take sandra away from him. Alpha then repeats what Bravo did with Sandra earlier and the cycle continue until Sarge Sim signal to stop.

The Bear-Walk was performed for 2 sets before it was changed to the Crab-Walk. Bear-Walk is crawling using both hand and leg with the chest fronting the field whilst a Crab-Walk is performed with the rear-back facing the field and crawl on both hand and leg.

The Bear-Walk...

The Crab-Walk....

Whilst waiting for the other team to Bear-Walk/Crab-Walk, sprint and turn back to tap the shoulder, the other team must first perform the squat-lifting. Whilst hugging Sandra, the team must squat down until the knee was 90 degree bend,  then stood-up while lifting Sandra until both arm were stretched and Sandra is highest-up. Then slowly bring Sandra down again as the body was lowered down for another squat. This was repeated until the other team mate tap on the shoulder.

The next activity was push-up exercise alternating one hand on Sandra. With one hand (say the left hand) on Sandra and the other on the grass, we had to performed a one rep pumping and change the left hand on Sandra with the right and the other hand on the grass. Repeat the full cycle until the shoulder is tap signalling another change-over to the Bear-Crawl/Crab-Crawl and sprint.

After pumping Sandra, the team had to stand with both leg spread and hold Sandra between the leg. Squat down without dropping Sandra and as the team stood up, raise Sandra up to shoulder level with both arm straight and parallel to the ground.

After a few short bursting orgasms, we had a 60 seconds water break before going on the third or last circuit. The last circuit was a 1km run carrying Ms Tee Junior (a long, slim and petite but heavy rope). All Seal members had to carry Ms Tee on the shoulder and run for 500 metre before we were asked to continue running while lifting Ms Tee with both arm stretched high for another 500 metre.

I burn a good 715 calories with a maximum heart rate of 168 bpm.

The session ended with a warming down session and as the day gets slightly brighter..... we pose with Kenny Smith as an evident that he had completed his punishment for breaking the ACE and set-up a NEW STANDARD to KL ALPHA....

Danny whom was sick with high temperature came this morning to take his attendance and slept in the car.... Lucky for him, otherwise, we would have another FUN ENTERTAINMENT ONLY AT KL ALPHA!!..

The Original Bootcamp Graduation Night @ Mark's place

.
.

After a month of training at the Original Bootcamp (OBC), it is customary for all participants to gather and celebrate their 1 month of improvement... a sort of graduation and the November graduation was celebrated at the Mark's Place, Kelana Jaya.

Every participants benefitted from various improvement in fitness and physique and the most notable gained was in weight lost and stamina. For result, see OBC Timing.

The graduation night was celebrated with a buffet dinner which we missed having to attend a wedding reception in KL.

The dinner that we missed........ (from left: Farhanah.....)

The Original Bootcamp comprised of 5 great teams from Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya; namely KL Alpha, KL Bravo, PJ Alpha, PJ Bravo and PJ Charlie. I met another blogger Suanie from PJ Alpha (see: Suanie) whom has been blogging for already 10 years since 1999. I also met Maya from PJ Bravo whom struggled and could not even complete the benchmark timing when she first joined the Bootcamp but today, she was able to improve with a timing of 15 minutes... Well done Maya.

Selva Kumar the franchise holder attended the graduation night for the first time since the Malaysian Original Bootcamp Malaysia was established more than 6 months ago and probably was surprised of what he had created... a bunch of Kiasu.

Most of the trainers except for Simran Latiff were all present. Trainers that close rank and mingle with the participants were Dharmendra Mahalingam, Faizal, Jason Moriarty and  Elin. Simran apologized that he had to give the grad night a rain check; Dharma said, he injured his eye reading my blog (lol with tongue sticking out).

I am with the KL Alpha. KL Alpha or the most Kiasu and fanatically crazy team at OBC, adopted the tagline 100% Attendance, Commitment and Effort (ACE) which depicted their Kiasu-ness. The most Kiasu people agreed upon a PACT for a punishment if they failed to get 100% ACE... specifically 100% attendance! The punishment varies according to their level of Kiasu which the Kiasu Council shall convene and decide!!! and the first punishment was enforced tonight with Super Delta Kenny Smith.

Kenny, who failed to attend the 6th Bootcamp session on Friday had to dress in full Scotland traditonal costume the Scottish Kilt during the graduation night tonight as well as to train in the costume on Monday..... and a good sport Kenny was, he appeared like this.......

Kenny Smith in Scottish Kilt

I pulled Kenny's leg when I realized he did not pulled my leg and really came in full Scottish traditional uniform.

Arvind who failed to observed the 100% attendance pact too was made to wear a red skirt, high heels, red lipstick... but will only be showcased on 26 December 2009.

Kenny was very formal in the Scottish traditional clothing but after a few dozen glasses of whisky, the mystery of what is beneath those kilt was unveiled.... the ladies were screaming (dont know in excitement or horror) and was accompanied by a few men diving under the table.

Kenny's super wife, Michelle Smith was in Australia and a gentle note to Michelle, "Dont worry, we took good care of Kenny..." We had our eyes closed...

After a good laugh, chat and dancing, we left home to get ready for Aaraf's 7th Birthday party bash early tomorrow.

The Scottish Kilt series will continue on Monday when Kenny will be training at the Bootcamp using the OBC T'shirt and the Skirt!!!!

Until then, have a good weekend and Stay Tune for Monday..................

DKS 6 - the Scottish Kilt

DKS6= December Kiasu Session 6.
(Note: Still 100% ACE- Attendance!! Commitment!! Effort!!... 6 more sessions to go!!!)

I jumped out of bed and quickly rushed out to check my car tyres having had a bad dream of my car tyres being sabotaged, punctured and I had to missed the Sixth Bootcamp session this morning. It felt so real. It was late yesterday's afternoon that I read on facebook 'Osama alias Shobha' was down with bad fever and it was yesterday evening at 8pm too that Superman Kenny Smith sms'd me to inform that he may be too drunk for the DKS 6 this morning.

Stubborn and extremist was Shobha's main attribute and acknowledging those character, her husband nicknamed her the Asian lady version of Osama which came to my knowledge on a slip of her own tongue. I immediately adopted and baptised her @ the Bootcamp with the title "Aunty Osama". Struggling and comforting herself from the sickness, she posted this on her wall:

"Shobha Bala has a sore throat (AGAIN!), is feeling feverish, fighting tis off with pire mental strength, a little TLC, and some meds. :( Chief Commander Kiasu, this is NOT your cue to tell me to give it a miss, coz even if I'm in a stretcher, I'll be there..... I'll be there............ (ala Mariah Carey)!".

Then she posted another message that read:

"Shobha Bala is gonna need a miracle. As of now, I feel like fcuk. Even the Kiasu mentality is NOT working atm."

I did not see the message until late in the evening when I came back from work and Nawal told me about the message... and I was..........  short of dancing.. or was it jumping.... or was I screaming... in excitement or maybe all three simultaneously!!! ...........and quickly message the Kiasu Council to be prepared for a serious brainstorming session for Shobha's OUTFIT !!!!!!! I was bad to make fun of Osama being sick....... but the thought of her in an Outfit ala Osama was unbearably funny.

Things got better when Superman Kenny Smith sms me too, contemplating if he can make it to the DKS-6!!!!! Kenny was overdosed with barrels of beer the night before and continued drinking again from lunch until the time he sms'd me at 8pm.... and he was still drinking!!!Kenny said, he may be too drunk for the Bootcamp.....

Kenny is an inspiration to many Bootcampers. The damn fit Scottish was overweight with 104kg before joining the Bootcamp. He is now 80kg and the fittest Delta couple (with Superlady Michelle) at the Bootcamp. Once, he came to the Bootcamp training from a night out without any sleep, drunk and vomitted while training. If he missed the DKS 6....... the punishment must be more severe!!!

So we made another separate PACT in a attempt to motivate him and for some entertainment for us the Kiasu (smiling widely). The rule of the PACT was:

1) Kenny must be puncture at the Bootcamp even without any sleep & drunk
2) He must train with us no matter how drunk he is
3) he must not vomit or stop during the session

and if he was able to attend and ensure the above 3 are entirely observed without failure......... then "I MUST TRAIN ON MONDAY NEXT WEEK in Malay traditional costume the "BAJU MELAYU" (of course with the OBC uniform T' shirt on top) but if Kenny fail to attend the DKS-6 or fail to observe any of the above 3 items, then Kenny will be dressed in his Scottish traditional costume, the "SCOTTISH KILT" and train with it on Monday OBC session....

Scottish Kilt
After agreeing on that pact with Kenny, I sat back and thought to myself............. "Sh@#T, what have I done.... me and my bigmouth and yet again........" I may just end-up on Monday training in Baju Melayu... This Superman Kenny & Anty Osama are both one of a kind... extremist, super stubborn & fit!!!

In the car, we had a preliminary discussion on the Outfit for Aunty Osama.... and the best idea (subjected to the Kiasu council approval) was to dress her like the OSAMA... with a 'Jubah', 'Ketayap', 'Sarban' and jubah with a moustache and beard drawn on her face!!!!! .......... ala the real OSAMA!!

With all fingers crossed, I drove impatiently to Padang Merbuk and arrived at my regular timing 5:35pm... I got out of the car and almost scream to make the announcement until Farhanah whispered, "SHOBHA IS HERE!!!!!!!"

I did not believe Farhanah and screamed SHOBHA!!! SHOBHA!!!! ...and when I saw her........  That was a mega anti-climax!!!! but my heart beat is still drumming fast....... for I may need to train on Monday wearing the BAJU MELAYU!!! ..........if Kenny make an appearance!!!!!!!!!!! the time displayed 5:38am........ and the clock ticking and taking its own sweet time counting down to 5:45am!!!!!!

COUNTING DOWN... .......................

Finally........... its 5:45am SHARP!!!!!!!! AND KENNY is nowhere to be found...........
KENNY is ABSENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * singing happily*

We had too much funtabulous time and many recruits fell in love with the Sandbags during the last session.. and the trainers literally believed it and today was not just another sandbag day!! but today is all about LOVING & HUGGING THOSE SANDBAG.

After a good 5 minutes warming up session, everyone had to pick up a sandbag and gathered at the field. The session began with 5 sets of 20 seconds workout and 10 second break per set of the followings:

LEG WORKOUT with Sandbag
a) Hug the Sandbag Truster. This was performed with the starting position standing with the feet shoulder width apart and hugging the sandbag with both arm at chest level, we did truster
b) Hug the sandbag lunges

CHEST WORKOUT with Sandbag
c) Push up with the chest touching the Sandbag
d) Diamond push up with both hands on the sandbag

JACOB'S ABDOMEN WORKOUT with Sandbag

a) Military sit up with Sandbag

b) Flutter kick- Kick the Sandbag sit-up (NEW) - almost similar to Jack Knife but the arm is stationary while holding up the sandbag above the chest. With arm straight parallel to the raised 90 degree leg position, kick the sandbag (moving from the hip not from the knee) with one leg at a time.

After the flutter kick, the rangers, seal and delta took turn to sprint while hugging the Sandbag for approximately 200 metre and while each team took turn sprinting, the other 2 team perform (c) below. While I was struggling to have the Perfect Form... Sarge Sim came nearer and said, "Armin why are you like a cry baby?".....

c) Jack knife with both hand carrying the sandbag

The session ended with a Pistol squat or the killer one leg squat that was performed before warming down.

For CK Chun's additional knowledge of what is the Scottish kilt (inc what is beneath),.... Stay tune for the Original Bootcamp 'Training in Scottish Kilt' on Monday.....
