RESET MALAYSIA: MEMBETULKAN SEMULA HALA TUJU NEGARA

RESET MALAYSIA: MEMBETULKAN SEMULA HALA TUJU NEGARA

Oleh: Dr Armin Baniaz Pahamin
(English version at the bottom)

“Apabila majoriti rakyat mula merasakan bahawa identiti negara semakin terhakis, ekonomi semakin sempit, dan masa depan semakin tidak jelas, maka negara sebenarnya sedang berdepan krisis hala tuju yang serius.”

2. Sebahagian besar orang Melayu mula melihat bahawa hala tuju dan qiblat Kerajaan Madani semakin dipengaruhi oleh prinsip kesamarataan ala “Malaysian Malaysia” yang sekian lama menjadi teras perjuangan DAP.

3. Persepsi ini semakin kuat apabila banyak pendekatan kerajaan dilihat cuba mentafsir semula struktur sosial negara atas nama kesaksamaan mutlak tanpa mengambil kira realiti sejarah dan kerangka Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

21. Malaysia memerlukan pelancaran industri baharu berimpak tinggi dalam bidang teknologi pertahanan, kecerdasan buatan, ekonomi digital, semikonduktor, tenaga baharu, bioteknologi, automasi, keterjaminan makanan, dan industri strategik Bumiputera yang mampu mencipta gelombang pertumbuhan baharu bagi negara.

RESET MALAYSIA: RESETTING THE NATION’S DIRECTION
By: Dr Armin Baniaz Pahamin

“When the majority of citizens begin to feel that the nation’s identity is gradually eroding, the economy is becoming increasingly restrictive, and the future appears more uncertain, the country is in fact facing a serious crisis of direction.”

1. Malaysia today is no longer merely facing ordinary economic challenges or routine political competition. The nation is increasingly experiencing a growing crisis of national balance and cohesion.

2. A significant segment of the Malay community has begun to perceive that the direction and political orientation of the Madani Government are becoming increasingly influenced by the egalitarian principles associated with the “Malaysian Malaysia” concept long championed by DAP.

3. This perception has strengthened as various government approaches are seen as attempting to reinterpret the country’s social structure in the name of absolute equality, without sufficient consideration for historical realities and the framework of the Federal Constitution.

4. In reality, the Federal Constitution was never constructed on the premise that all ethnic groups occupy an entirely identical position in terms of historical context and nation-building responsibilities.

5. Instead, the Constitution was founded upon the principle of national balance. It protects the rights of all citizens while simultaneously recognising the special position of the Malays and Bumiputera, Islam as the religion of the Federation, and the institution of the Malay Rulers as fundamental pillars of the nation.

6. In several recent issues, political leaders within the government have also been perceived as increasingly willing to openly question or challenge the decrees and positions of the Malay Rulers.

7. Consequently, when political narratives move excessively towards the concept of absolute equality without sensitivity towards the nation’s original constitutional structure, many Malays begin to feel that their position is being gradually questioned and diluted.

8. It is within this context that the RESET agenda has begun attracting greater attention. RESET advances the idea that Malaysia’s long-term stability can only be achieved through restoring equilibrium between majority legitimacy and minority confidence.

9. RESET’s emphasis that any government must secure the support of the majority ethnic community while simultaneously being accepted by the majority of minority communities represents a more realistic and sustainable cross-ethnic political formula for Malaysia.

10. Malaysia requires a government that is not only inclusive, but also possesses strong legitimacy from the Malay majority as the principal pillar of the nation’s state structure.

11. However, RESET is not merely about identity politics or ethnic stability. It also places significant emphasis on correcting the nation’s economic direction.

12. For far too long, Malaysia has suffered from a shortage of bold ideas capable of developing new industries that could become catalysts for national economic growth.

13. The country appears to remain dependent on outdated economic models without the political courage to create next-generation strategic sectors capable of increasing national income and generating high-value employment opportunities for the rakyat.

14. Malaysia was once recognised as one of the “Asian Tigers”, a nation that aggressively developed strategic sectors such as the national automotive industry, oil and gas, Islamic finance, shipping, MSC, and heavy industries.

15. Today, that momentum appears to be steadily fading.

16. The Madani Government is increasingly perceived as focusing more on perception management, political slogans, and short-term fiscal approaches rather than building a new economic ecosystem capable of genuinely transforming the country’s economic structure.

17. In reality, the rakyat, particularly the Bumiputera community, require greater opportunities for economic ownership, entrepreneurship, industrial participation, and access to high-income employment.

18. Young Bumiputeras today are increasingly burdened by rising living costs, limited employment opportunities, and growing difficulties in building long-term wealth and economic security.

19. Without an aggressive and forward-looking economic agenda, economic disparities will continue to widen, while frustration among the rakyat will deepen further.

20. RESET seeks to revive the idea that the government must possess a far more strategic and courageous national economic vision.

21. Malaysia requires the development of new high-impact industries in areas such as defence technology, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, semiconductors, renewable energy, biotechnology, automation, food security, and strategic Bumiputera industries capable of creating a new wave of national growth.

22. Today, many citizens are beginning to question whether the Madani Government genuinely possesses the expertise, capability, and political drive required to execute such a large-scale economic transformation. Thus far, the government is increasingly perceived as defensive and reactive rather than possessing a comprehensive national transformation plan capable of fundamentally changing the country’s economic trajectory.

23. This is why RESET has emerged as a call to recalibrate the nation’s political direction, economic priorities, and national structure before Malaysia continues losing momentum as one of the region’s major economic powers.

24. A nation cannot continue to be governed solely through narratives and slogans. Malaysia requires a new direction that is bolder, more balanced, and more firmly grounded in the realities of the majority rakyat and the long-term future of the nation.
