BATTLE OF PLATOONS - PART 1 PLANK HOLD

Battle of platoon is CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP, Malaysia (COBC) inaugural event to mark COBC's first year anniversary. From now, the Battle of Platoons will be an annual event fought on every COBC's anniversary. The battle of platoons was conducted to determine which platoon is the strongest in a friendly, enjoyable and slightly competitive manner".

The CHIEF'S first Battle of Platoons was held yesterday on 17 July 2011 at Damansara Height base camp and a war cry was sent out 2 weeks ago. It was a battle between 3 platoons namely, Bandar Utama Spartans, Damansara Heights Highlander and Subang Jaya USJ Legends. To instill the spirit of camaraderie, BU-Alpha platoon and BU-Bravo platoon was merged into the Spartans, UJS1-Alpha and USJ1-bravo merged into the Legends and Damansara Heights Zulu made up the Highlanders.

Battle under the moonlight!!!

The first course.. Plank- hold challenge!!!

The more than a total 100 Recruits were divided into their respective rank Ranger, Seal and Delta with a mixture of Spartans, Highlander and Legends.  The rule was simple!!! Reiterating the importance of good perfect form, any recruit without a good form is eliminated. Those eliminated must stay and cheer at their team mate from their position. Instructors were instructed to tap any recruit without a good form and the last person that maintain their plank-hold shall win the first challenge for their platoon. There will be one winner for each category Ranger, Seal and Delta.

Picture left, Recruits were ready, listening to instructions while Picture below, Sarge (COBC) Dann demonstrated the form.

Those that could not hold their plank will be disqualified and they had to sit and cheer for their team mate at the same position.

Viki Lim cheering for Nyna Mohsen

Everybody cheered for their team mate.

As time progresses.. only very few recruits were able to hold the plank!!

Sarge Dann: "You.. out of form..  OUT!!"

Captain Imran Sheikh: "Whats groin on?"

Nabil Jeffri

The winner for the first obstacles are as follows:

RANGER: RACHEAL TAN JU-AI (SPARTANS)
SEAL: SHUKRI FROM HIGHLANDER
DELTA: JOE LIEW (SPARTAN)

WELL DONE SPARTANS!!!

Image via Auto World Remember the last time you were overcharged for a repair? Yeah, me too.
The good news is you don't have to fret anymore! Car Bengkel, a local app set up in collaboration with the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), aims to help motorists survive this ultimate road challenge.
