25 JULY 2010. Whilst 8 recruits (including guests) from the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA @ Bandar Utama went for MOUNT NUANG EXPEDITION in Hulu Langat, another 8 recruits participated in the BHP Orange run.

Since the BHP Orange run was first organised, we had never missed it every year but this year, we went to Mt Nuang expedition instead but our circle of friends from the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA @ Bandar Utama ran the BHP Orange 11km run and many of them were first time participants at the BHP Orange run and some were Virgin runners.

21 July 2010. Its the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA July second last session at Bandar Utama and the weather was moody and tantrum, crying out a downpour of rain. The sky was so dark.... Oh.. its dark because it was 5:30am, the time we arrived at the BU3/1 football field. In darkness, we can only imagine the field condition.

The rain was still heavy when Sarge did the roll-call. Corporal Chun and Corporal Sandy Robers were the other instructors for today's session. All the Kiasu were present but almost half of the recruits were absent. When the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP tagged the line "Rain Hail or Shine" we exercise... they really mean business.

All instructor at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP must be certified, accredited and re-assessed (for qualification) periodically by the Global Master Trainer to ensure a standard benchmark of all instructors globally.

18 July 2010, Ipoh. Which hotel did we book again? I asked Nawal Aini Zulkifli as we searched the GPS to find our way to the Hotel in Ipoh. It was almost 9pm and we drove in heavy rain from KL to Ipoh. Its the Ritz Carlton, said Rose Emini Pahamin via the Blackberry Chat. Rose Emini Pahamin, Ilyanna Aylin Ayob, Bahariah Bahadom, Suriana Saiful, Nyna Mohsen hadarrived earlier in the morning.

To cut the story short, we were rescued by Aunty Umi, Mum's best friend whom is an Ipoh'ian. We reached the hotel and saw a big signboard that reads... "Ritz Kowloon". No, we didnt stay there but the next block the Ritz Garden.

Bahariah Bahadom booked our hotel rooms via the internet bearing the distance to the Stadium where we will be running but without any knowledge of the hotel except for the pictures posted on the internet that look pretty awesome. To cut the story short again... the soonest we enter the hotel and into our room, Nawal Aini Zulkifli said... this hotel smells Sex but the hotel, lobby and the rooms were clean, tidy, neat and nice.

NAWAL AINI ZULKIFLI, a Lance Corporal at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP passed her Level 1 military leadership certification by the Global Master trainer Chief Brabon & Gunny Emily in May 2010. Nawal Aini Zulkifli has been a recruit for 6 months prior to being trained as an instructor at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP. Nawal Aini Zulkifli had participated in 37 mix races in triathlons, dualthons, marathons and other shorter running distances since she picked up the outdoor activities in 2004.

16 July 2010 Its the second Bring-A-Friend day at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama. The first Bring-A-Friend Day was instructed by our special guest Chief Brabon, the founder and Managing Director of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP Worldwide. Today, we had special guests too but not to instruct. Our special guest today was a bunch of HARLEY DAVIDSON bikers led by Raja Affandi, an existing recruit at BU-Bravo.

Just as the warm up started, the bikers arrived fashionably late backed by a thunder-storm noise BROOOM BROOOOM VROOOOM BOM BOM BOM....

UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH CHUN CHIA KAI, THE ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA CORPORAL

CHUN CHIA KAI, a corporal with the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama was a recruit since October 2009 for 8 months before being selected to be trained as an instructor. Chun Chia Kai was a Delta for the whole period as a recruit and held the record for the fastest Benchmark timing at the former KL Alpha platoon.

Chun Chia Kai has never missed any session nor have had any late-comer record during his 8 months as a recruit. Chun Chia Kai is also a senior council member of our 100% ACE (100% Attendance, 100% Commitment and 110% Effort). Chun Chia Kai has lost 8kg while under-training at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.

14 July 2010. Welcome back John Chuah, Tricia Fredericks and all those football World Cup followers. The past month has been tough on both recruits and trainers whom suffered from the World Cup Jetlag, staying up late at night with only very few hours of sleep. They were only physically in Malaysia but their thought and mind were in South Africa. 18 recruits were absent on Monday's training session when they did not get sufficient sleep watching the final match between Spain and Holland. Some recruits were Spain and some Holland strong supporters but some simply wanted to see if Paul the Octopus (Sotong) prediction was true. Me...? I just like to eat Sotong.

Paul the Sotong's prediction was right... Spain won!! and so was the prediction that we will suffer if we missed any training session. To welcome back those Missing-in-World-Cup, we had an exhilarating 705 calories burn session this morning with Ropes and killer sprint and run cardio.

What is a "BRING-A-FRIEND-DAY"?

Bring-A-Friend Day is the day the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP gave a sneak preview of what the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP training is about. Everybody will have a taste to feel the actual training.

Many people have heard of the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP from the blog, website, internet, magazines, newspaper and have read about it on TV 9 news, MHI TV3, radio stations etc... the Bring-A-Friend day is the day everybody are invited to discover the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP themselve.

HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY PROTON

We received PROTON Holdings Berhad invitation card early for the celebration of Proton 25 years silver jubilee on 9 July 2010.

The celebration was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 9 July 2010 and 2500 guests were invited including former pioneer staff of Proton. Malaysia Prime Minister YAB Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak was the guest of Honor. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Ali as well as most dignitaries attended the historic event.

9 July 2010, on a 4 car convoy everybody except for me, Rhiza and Azhar Sulaiman left for Sepang Golden Palm resort Gold Coast to celebrate Mum's 62nd Birthday. I had to attend Proton 25 year Silver jubilee celebration at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Rhiza was in Penang attending a court case.. Lawyer! Azhar Sulaiman was in Johor doing some movie shooting.

We bought the villa at the Sepang Gold Coast but took 4 Villas for this weekend celebration.

 7 July 2010. Its Party time time at the ECOBA.

Why?  Well.. Like what I've mentioned before, we don't really need a reason to party... but if there must me a reason, it must be to give ourselves a deserving break from a month of exercising. There is no better reason but to pat ourselves on the back and say... hey, we took the first step of health-maintenance. There is also no better people to celebrate it with, beside the people that share similar passion.

BREAKDOWN WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE

I rushed through the early bad morning traffic and took the NKVE highway to Putrajaya to attend the Ministry of Finance 2011, Budget Consultative Council meeting when suddenly my driver prompted the car in smoke!!!!

I look back through the rear screen and saw a thick smoke and immediately asked my driver to stop the car... Who knows, the car may be blown to pieces and I wont be around for the first ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP graduation party tomorrow night.

The council meeting to be chaired by YAB Prime Minister is scheduled to start at 9am and the time then was 8:35am.

We stopped the car by the road side and saw a thick red-oil flowing under the car.... Gearbox problem, my driver claimed. Less than 3 years old MERCEDES  bought new from NZ Wheel have successfully gathered a long list of problems... but that is a story for another occasion.

There are 26 amendments to the 43 years old Hire Purchase Act 1967 tabled in Parliament for second and third reading but the biggest concern to both the public as well as car dealers are clause 7,8,9 and 10 of the bill tabled.

Let us first see and understand those amendments. The followings are excerpts and extractions from the bill tabled in Parliament.

Clause 7 of the Bill seeks to amend Section 16 of the Hire-Purchase Act 1967 to impose new conditions on the owner in relation to repossession under this Act. Section 16 of the principal Act is amended by:

ROUND-TABLE MEETING WITH MAYBANK BERHAD

24 June 2010, Dataran Maybank Bangsar. PEDA executive committees had an official round-table meeting with Maybank Autofinance team at the Dataran Maybank in Bangsar.

Personally, I have a long 13 years good history with Maybank since 1997. Maybank was the first Bank that offered my first business facility during the inception of my Proton Edar Dealership after my merchank banking days with the Commerce International Merchank Bankers Berhad (Now known as CIMB Investment Bank).

The first Maybank Manager that attended to me was Murad whom was then the Maybank Branch Manager for Klang in 1997. Murad was the first Manager that introduces me to the Floor-stocking facilities. When Murad was transfered to Medan Pasar, Norhisham Hashim took over the Klang Branch. Through Norisham, I learn the automotive trade and very negligibly through by Proton Edar.

After Norisham, Musawir attended to me when my facility was transfered to Puchong. 13 years later, all of them are now a prominent banker with an office on the highest floor at the Dataran Maybank, Bangsar. Alhamdulillah, everybody are successful.

2 July 2010. TGI Friday... Thank God Its Friday... actually its more like OGI Friday.... Oh God Its Friday... Its already Friday and the beginning of the third quarter of the year. The half year is gone and the New Year Resolution is still far-fetched... but that is a story for another occasion.

What is more relevant, was the exercising via the bootcamp that is still consistently an ACE (Attendance, Commitment and Effort) for the past half year!! though the target running races for this year is still lacking... but that too is a story for another occasion.

More than 50% of recruits FFK/skipped the Benchmark Assessment on Monday. When they thought they could escaped scot free, they were alienated this morning from the rest to performed the Benchmark Assessment. The Benchmark Assessment assessment is important to gauge the the level of fitness of each recruit.

BSN BANK

Together with Proton Edar Dealers Association Malaysia (PEDA) Vice-President Lee Lick Sai and exco Fathul Rahman, PEDA paid an official and friendly visit the BSN Bank. It is a regular meeting to keep ourselves updated with the on-goings in the market but part of our primary agenda was for a better financing package to both our members and for Proton buyers.

Our meeting was attended to by two of the three deputy Chief Executives, the senior Vice-President and the Head (See: BSN organisation chart) namely, BSN Deputy Chief Executive Office for Credit Management & Business Support Winston E. Jeyaprakash, Deputy Chief Executive for Consumer banking & Business Development Yunos Abd Ghani, Senior Vice President Akhsan Zaini and Head of Credit Management Department Abdullah Aziz Buyong.

ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA: JULY PG 2/12: GOOD BYE JUNE

30 June 2010. The first session of every month is always the Benchmark Assessment. The second session is always the ranking of recruits into their respective fitness level which are the Delta, Seals and Ranger. The benchmark timing is not the only factor that influenced the ranking of recruits. The forms & techniques, medical & health condition as well as their competitiveness and aptitude too, determines the recruit's ranking. Although all the recruits have already been given their respective rank, Sarge Dann, or the lead instructor will raised the recruits a level up or down based on his observation on the recruits fitness level during training. So be wary, you may be demoted or promoted a level up.

The Deltas are the cream and the fittest in the platoon. We should be aspired to grow-up (in a few months) and be like them. The rangers are the best spirited people.. I always look at Ranger Lizza Abdul Rahim for inspiratoin. Her determination during every workout... no matter how hard or strenuous the workout is, she will always smile and pushed herself without ever 'stalling... cheating'... unlike somebody.
