OBC-BU/USJ1 DECEMBER 2010 GRADUATION PARTY.. HO HO HOOOOYAH

22 December 2010. The CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA AT BANDAR UTAMA & USJ1 SUBANG JAYA celebrated its 7th Graduation party at the Modestos Curve, Mutiara Damansara with CHRISTMAS as the theme. Being a nation with multi religion, races and culture, Malaysians are proud to celebrate any festivities of all religion and races. These harmony in multi-races, religion and culture is the backbone of our success.

Guests arrived as early as 7:00am and Chun Chia Kai @ Corporal Chun was the earliest. When I arrived, Rienna Choo, her battalion and Rose Emini Pahamin were all ready for the night. Rienna Choo came early and had to leave earlier for another function. So we gave her certificate before the guest of honor arrived.

This December graduation is abit special as we will have a Guess of Honour, a three-star General from Cambodia whom is in Malaysia under my personal invitation.

Our Guest of Honor, His Excellency General Chan Kosal was punctual at 8:30pm.  H.E. Chan Kosal was in Malaysia for a 3 days visit for a possible business collaboration. Since he was in Malaysia, we invited him to be our Guest of Honor.

When the function began, we played a pre-recorded video by James Brabon or more fondly known as Chief Brabon, the founder of the Chief's ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP. We requested the founder to pre-record his speech to address our loyal recruits and supporters in conjunction with the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP's 20th anniversary. Chief Brabon was in Heathrow Airport awaiting departure to United State of America when the video was made. (Picture: Gunny Emily & Chief Brabon)

The Video was as follows:

After the pre-recorded video speech, our Masters of Ceremony Farhanah Bamadhaj invited me to give a welcoming speech. In my speech, I welcomed H.E. Chan Kosal, His Excellency delegates and everybody to the 7th Graduation dinner and also the last gathering for the year 2010. The year 2010 is not just another year but a very special year.. .Why? because it is the year when the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama was born. This is also a special year because Sarge Dann became the first Malaysian to graduate and survived the HELL'S WEEK or the toughest programme under the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.

Six month after inception, OBC-BU had expanded to USJ1 and that is only the beginning of a bigger masterplan.

We are also thankful to Chief Brabon & Gunny Emily for the last minute request for the Chief's recorded speech. Chief recorded and emailed to me his speech at the heathrow airport while waiting for their departure to America.

This year ended well when all of us went through our own re-branding phase after successfully completing the OBC 8 Week Challenge!!!  We are very proud when James Fong, our recruit at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama was voted into finals against the Australian and a few hundred other contestants. James Fong is one of the many that had benefited from the OBC program.

The ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP was first established in 1991 and will be 20 years old in less than a month. Similar to 'us' going on the 8 Week Challenge for a new, younger, sexier look...  the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP too went through a re-branding phase and had launched our new LOGO last few weeks. This new logo is the first of many 'new' things that will be available at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP especially in training mode.

There are many recruits that started the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP program from a couch potato and had never ran any competitions before. These recruits were once a Virgin-Runner and had never ran any running races until after a month or two training with the OBC-Bandar Utama. Now, they are all an avid runner and participated in various running-events nationwide. The latest Virgin runner that lost the 'running-virgin' was Joannita Zaleha Yusof. Joannita did not just started running but she ran and recorded a very good Personal Best timing having completed her 12km run @ hilly terrain in 1hour 4 minutes during the recent MALAKOF race. Joannita's success stories quickly became the aspiration to many other Virgin-runners.

After my opening remark, Farhanah Bamadhaj then invited H.E Chan Kosal to address our members in a short speech.

After His Excellency's speech, the MC called on the 3-Star General, H.E. Chan Kosal to give out the Certificate to the respective recipients.
