STRIP EXEMPTIONS GIVEN TO 70 CAR MODELS, VARIANTS

A GROUP of influential car dealers has recommended stripping exemptions given to vehicles if they do not meet the new safety standards.

Proton Edar Dealers Association (Peda) urged the Transport Ministry to revoke all exemptions given to 10 car models with more than 70 variants that do not meet the New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) safety requirements.

The call follows efforts by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros), an agency under the ministry, to lift motor vehicle safety standards and encourage a market for safer vehicles under NCAP.

NCAP is a collaboration signed between Miros and the Global New Car Assessment Programne on December 7 2011.

In 2011, the ministry issued a list of United Nation Economic Council for Europe (Unece) regulations for automotive assemblers and manufacturers in Malaysia to implement by January 2012.

The deadline was first extended to June last year.

Peda president, Armin Baniaz Pahamin, said to date, 70 car models and variants are still given exemption despite not complying with two items on the Unece list, namely UN ECE R94 (frontal collision system) and UN ECE R95.

TIPS ON HOW TO OPTIMIZE YOUR WORKOUT

What can we do to the get the most out of our only 1 hour workout, 3 times a week? Below are 10 simple but amazing tips from our Penang lead instructor Sarge (COBC) Boon cscs that can surely fire up your progress!!

1) BURST OF POWER!! Every set of workout is only 20 to 40 seconds maximum with a break of 10-20 seconds in between sets. This short burst of power targets to repeatedly push your heart rate to its maximum HR to stretch your stamina and strength a step further.

2) MAX-UP REPETITION!! Do all, as in each and every repetitions when asked to. Every repetition counts. Do it perfectly and do not discount or cheat on the number of repetitions and its form. There is no shame of being the last in the group. Your competition is against your own fitness and strength and not of others (unless you are a Delta)

2013 8WC LIST OF CHALLENGERS!! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!

LC Azmir sacrificed his chance to win 2012 8WC to be a COBC instructor

Simon Koay Penang 2012 8WC Co-Champ
The licensor to the Chief's Original Bootcamp in Australia launched the 4th Eight Week Challenge (8WC) slightly more than 2 weeks ago on 3rd February 2013. Although the last challenge was only three months after the 3rd 8WC ended (as opposed to previous years when the 8WC was held only once a year), there are approximately 700 participants in Australia and Malaysia that had registered this year.

These challengers have been on a mission to transform their physiques with the Chief Original Bootcamp for 8 consecutive weeks!! and if you think they look hawt and great now, see their BEFORE picture and their measurement. You will be amazed!! Click on the challenger's name BELOW to see how they look like before the transformation.

To see this year, 2013's list of 8WC participants, scroll all the way down to the end of the page. Bandar Utama has the biggest number of challengers with 30 registered recruits followed by Damansara Heights platoon.

MOST COMMON MISTAKE MADE WHILE TRAINING

What are the top most common mistakes while training?

1. BENDING INSTEAD OF SQUATTING DOWN WHEN DOING GRUNTS.

2. COMPROMISING ON FORMS FOR SPEED.
Hey.. Compromising on forms can and do lead to various injuries. Speed is important once you are in Delta but before pressing for speed, we must first ensure our forms are perfect.

3. DOING A BACK TO BACK SESSION
Yes... Some of us miscalculated the level of our newly found energy. More often, most newbies (to COBC) would feel hyper-energetic after the second week and they would began to attend Bootcamp everyday and even do a back-to-back session. Unless you are a season athlete, we do not recommend for you to do a back to back but instead, to workout at COBC three times a week on alternate days as suggested. This is to allow your body to have sufficient time to rest & recover.

4. WHEN SQUATTING, WEIGHT SHOULD BE ON THE HEELS.

5. STANDING UP AND NOT JUMPING WHEN DOING GRUNTS. When jumping, recruit should land squatting and not standing up.

Yes, understood Grunts is a killer but if we must paused or be rested, it should be at the squatting-down position. Always jump and squat straight down to complete 1 repetition.

6. Not BEING ABLE TO WALK OUT OF BOOTCAMP is a figure of speech but literally it means, if you find it tough and hard to complete the 1 hour session, its only then that you have had a good workout. Anyone from any fitness level, no matter how new or how senior an athlete you are, if you can comfortably walk out after the session, it means you did not give your best effort (Maybe "stalling"!!) and did not do your best while training.

70 CAR OF MIX VARIANCES IN MALAYSIA FAILED THE NCAP CRASH TEST?

70 CAR OF MIX VARIANCES IN MALAYSIA FAILED THE NCAP CRASH TEST?

Well.. It would have if it was made to go through the crash test but instead, it was given an exemption from compliance by our Ministry of Transport.

On 7 December 2011, the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP) and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) signed a collaborative MOU to establish a pilot project for an ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nation) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The objective of the program was to elevate motor vehicle safety standards in the ASEAN region and encourage a market for safer vehicles. (Source: FIA).

The essence behind the NCAP is to educate consumers in selecting the best crashworthy car.

Upon getting the cabinet approval, the Transport Ministry issued a list of United Nation Economic Council for Europe (UN ECE) regulations for motorcar assemblers and manufacturers in Malaysia to implement by January 2012. Failing that, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) had already extended the date by six months to June 2012. (Source: New Sunday Times, 13 April 2012)

Todate, 10 car-make with 70 model variances listed below still did not meet the regulation under the ASEAN NCAP. Those listed below did not comply and was given an exemption from complying to the UN ECE Regulation 94 and R95. (Source: Road Transport Department (JPJ), website).

The UN ECE Regulation No. 94 and No. 95 specifies a minimum crash safety performance for frontal collision speed of 64 km/h and side collision speed of 64 km/h.
Notice from the list below, most global carmaker such as TOYOTA, produced two different models of the same car with those in Malaysia not conforming to the Global crashworthiness standard but the same car passed the carshworthiness in other region.

A global car manufacturer has to engineer the car to four different types of national specifications but usually it was designed in compliance to either the US specifications or the General Market specifications. There are also the European specifications and Japan specifications. The US specification is usually the most expensive because of the high safety and environmental specifications.

PEDA URGED MOT TO WITHDRAW ALL EXEMPTION GIVEN TO CARMAKERS

Kuala Lumpur, February 2013. "PROTON Edar Dealers Association Malaysia (PEDA) lauded the government’s effort provided under MIROS, an arm under the Ministry of Transport to elevate our motor vehicle safety standards and encourage a market for safer vehicles in Malaysia under the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP)”, said Armin Baniaz Pahamin President, PEDA. He further added, “Given the essence of NCAP, PEDA urged our Minister of Transport to withdraw all exemption and waiver given to 10 car models with more than 70 variances that did not meet the NCAP safety requirement.

1. In 2011, the Ministry of Transport issued a list of United Nation Economic Council for Europe (UN ECE) regulations for motorcar assemblers and manufacturers in Malaysia to implement by January 2012. The deadline was first extended to June 2012 (Source: NST, 13 April 2012). Todate, 70 car variances were still given exemption for non-compliance when the local car manufacturer and assembler could not meet two items on the list namely UN ECE R94 (frontal collision system) and UN ECE R95 (side collision) (Reference: http://www.jpj.gov.my/web/guest/status-senarai-kenderaan-yang-tidak-mematuhi).

2. Announced in 2007, regulation No. 94 and No. 95 of the UN ECE specifies a minimum crash safety performance for frontal collision speed of 64 km/h and side collision speed of 64 km/h.

3. The R94 and R95 are standards issued by UNECE regarding the level of protection of passengers in a car in the event of a front impact and a side impact. These standards are used for the issuing of safety ratings by the NCAP operated by regional non-profit organizations and funded by governments and/or insurance groups.

 4. The essence behind the NCAP is to educate consumers in selecting the best crashworthy car but with 70 car variances given an exemption for non-compliance (See attached list), consumers are being blindfolded when their choices were impaired and misguided with the absentees of this safety requirement.

5. Since the directive was issued, the exemption is still valid todate at the cost of the public’s safety and life endangerment.

 6. The exemption by JPJ is not in tandem with the spirit under the NCAP which was a collaboration signed between the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP) and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) on 7th of December 2011 but will continue to model Malaysia as a dumping ground for foreign cars with sub-standard safety compliance.

7. A global car manufacturer has to engineer the car to four different types of national specifications but usually it was designed in compliance to either the US specifications or the General Market specifications. There are also the European specifications and Japan specifications. The US specification is usually the most expensive because of the high safety and environmental specifications.

 8. The difference between those national specifications is so big that some carmakers like Toyota for example produces two different models of the same car for different region. This is partly the reason why the US market has a different looking Toyota Camry and in Malaysia, most global carmakers did not conform but was given exemption from adhering to the UNECE R94 and R95.

 9. Developing markets like Malaysia usually get the general specifications body, which may or may not comply to UNECE R94 and R95.

10. There were 7 vehicles selected for the first phase of the ASEAN NCAP crash test based on vehicle “entry-level”, most sellable cars and its market share according to their market segment. The 7 vehicles were Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Proton Saga Perodua Myvi, Hyundai i10, Nissan March and Toyota. The ASEAN NCAP first phase test result were made public on 31 January 2013.

11. The result however was not a good representation for the consumer and it did not achieve the overall objective of NCAP as it excludes vehicle model such as the Perodua Viva which was sold with more than 60,000 units per year and more than 95% market share in Segment A in vehicle sales category. Other vehicle models in the same category (Segmen A) namely Hyundai i10 (with less than 3% market share) were made to participate in the crash test.

12. With such a significant car sales volume, it is important for the public to be aware and beknown of Perodua Viva’s crashworthiness that was the objective of the NCAP. Giving an exemption to any manufacturer or assemblers from NCAP compliance is akin of lying to the public by hiding the non-compliance to the global motor vehicle safety standard”, said Armin Baniaz Pahamin.

13. He added, “Car manufacturer or distributor should not be given any exemption or waiver especially when it involve the public safety. The public’s right should not be compromised especially with Malaysia being the 3rd highest road fatality per 10,000-registered vehicle in South East Asia.

In Thailand, all eco-cars like the Nissan March and Honda Brio (usually priced around RM40,000) already conform to UNECE R94 and R95 standards, as it is one of the requirement set by the Thai government to qualify for eco-car tax incentive. (Source: NST April 13, 2012)

SUPPLEMENTS FOR TRAINING

Marie How- USJ1 Batallion 2012 Local Champion
Yes!! Yes!!! Sorry for the belated blog-posting on the supplements but it was not easy to negotiate for the best prices. For one, the currency to import those supplements from oversea kept changing and two, the cost price increases every year. However, we manage to negotiate the cost to be kept at the same price (as last year) and was able to extend /offer the same price to you.
We finally got it!!! Although we are not able to get the BSC products used and recommended by Australia due to Malaysia strict and lengthy licensing requirement but we sourced and found an alternative which has an equivalent if not better content but cost the same. Some are more expensive than BSC products but we managed to negotiate for a cheaper bulk prices.... especially for you.

No!! We do not profiteer from this (not even for petrol fee) because we simply wants to make it cheaper and easier for you to get the result to win the 8WC. COBC Malaysia wants you to be the the Grand Champion and win the RM15,000.

All the products from both stacks proposed are suitable for both men and women who are physically active for optimal results. As the Ultimate Nutrition Ultra Ripped contains stimulant, it is not suitable for customers who are on specific medication, with high blood pressure, and/or with heart problems. Please do consult your physicians for consultation if you have medical condition.

The SUPPLEMENTS are as follows:

FAT MALAYSIA!! JOIN COBC, RUN MALAKOFF PENANG RACE AND REDUCE THE FAT STATISTICS

Did you know that Malaysian is the fattest country in the South East Asia? According to a statistics from the National Health and Morbidity Surveys, 15.1% of Malaysians aged 18 and above were suffering from obesity as of 2011 which is a 14% increase as compared to the same demographic in 2006. It was also reported that over 2.6 million adults were obese while over 477,000 children below the age of 18 years were overweight. Malaysia Minister of Health Dato Seri Liow Tiong Lai said, Malaysia are outweighing our Asean neighbors and number 6 (fattest) in the whole of Asia - behind some middle eastern countries. Nicholas Cheng from the Star newspaper has the full report at HERE.

As part of our corporate social responsibility to overcome this Fat Malaysia crisis, we co-sponsor the Malakoff Race series including the forthcoming Malakoff Penang 17km run on 17th March 2013.

BFM 89.9 THE BUSINESS STATION- CHIEF BRABON

The man behind the Chief's Original Bootcamp program started the business in Australia in 1991 by Chief's Brabon and Freda Liu interviewed him at BFM 89.90 the Business Station on 11 January 2013.

Quoting BFM 89.90: "Don't waste any more time or money on health club memberships you never use, run-of-the-mill personal trainers who promise you the world, but never seem to deliver, or 'miracle' machines that simply end up collecting dust under your bed. CHIEF's ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP™ guarantees that you'll see serious results in as little as two weeks or your money back!
We speak to the man behind ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP™, Chief Brabon on his motivational techniques and workouts that attracted a wide variety of clients, from middle aged house wives who had never trained before, to professional athletes. ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP™ is the largest boot camp fitness program in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 40 locations Australia wide. In early 2009, ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP™ launched its first Malaysian and US based programs, with the Malaysian arm expanding to 6 franchises by early 2011 and the rest, as they say is history".

From the Interview we quoted a few facts as follows:

BENCHMARK ASSESSMENT AT THE CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP

Benchmark Assessment!!! What is it? and how it is done?

Yes.. By now you would have completed your benchmark assessment. The benchmark assessment is held at the start of every intake each month with an objective to first gauge the recruits physical ability in strength, muscular endurance, stamina, agility and speed. With the Benchmark Assessment too, instructors will have a better insight in the recruits ability to go beyond their physical fatigue. This is important for instructors to get the best out of the recruit during training.

Once the assessment is concluded, recruits will be placed unto their respective rank, eg, Delta, Seals and Rangers according to their benchmark timing and workout form as well as the technique observed and performed during the assessment. However, please note that the benchmark timing is not the only factor used in categorizing recruits but there are other characteristics and factors.

BENCHMARK ASSESSMENT is important and should not be missed. Previous month's recruits whom are not continuing their session in the following months should also perform the Benchmark Assessment upon completing their 12 sessions to see their level of fitness improvement.

There are 2 parts of the Benchmark assessment.

1) Benchmark Assessment 1 (BM1),  there are Four (4) Exercises involved in the Benchmark Assessment.

i) Running 2 laps of 200 meter track.
ii) Pushups (10 repetition on toes & 15 on knees)
iii) Grunts (10 repetitions)
iv) Situps (15 repetition without assistance, 20 rep with feet assisted)

There will be no resting between workout and once the 3 sets of the circuit above is completed, the timing will recorded.

COBC TEAM RENDERVOUS AT SEPANG GOLDEN PALM TREE RESORT

The year 2012 ended with a good fond memory when the whole team except LC Affiq Zakie & LC Foong from the Chief's Original Bootcamp went on a fully paid escapade to the Golden Palm Tree Goldcoast Resort & Spa in Sepang. The year 2012 has been both kind and generous to us all. Sarge Wan was blessed with another child, COBC was blessed with a few superbly fine instructors namely LC Amir, LC Azmir and LC Affiq (straight A's aka AAA aka 3As). 2012 also saw COBC co-sponsoring the most talked about series of races under Malakoff to further reiterate our support for outdoor activities.

The team deserves a good break having worked under all weather condition Hail, Rain or Shine for 48 consecutive weeks. After the escapade, COBC shall be on its longest 2 weeks break to greet the New Year.  What happen during the escapade were censored from public knowledge but below are snapshots of the uncensored topless pose as well as some activities at the Goldcoast... enjoy!! click on picture to enlarge.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: COBC QUARTERLY GRADUATION PARTY

The Chief's Original Bootcamp celebrated our Christmas party at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club on 22 December 2012 a day before the COBC team went on an escapade at HERE and a day after we completed our December session. The event was attended by more than 60 recruits from various platoons. There are no strangers at COBC but only friends that you have not met. This is one prominent trait at COBC, we gathered people from all walks of life unto one platform. The owners of COBC, its instructors and administration's primary passion is in making new affiliations... new friends and new networking whilst growing the bonds with the existing even closer.  All in the name of Health & Fitness!!!

I have always reiterated.. that at COBC, we bypassed the normal hierarchy of friendship from stranger to friends to close friend to BFF but immediately became bruder mah!! sister wor!! Networking.. friendship and unity is the theme for 2013 in tandem the new year resolution. The party began at 1800 and scheduled to end at 2100 but it ended way later when everyone stayed back for camwhoring session!!

MALAKOFF RUN 2012: CO-POWERED BY COBC

The Chief's Original Bootcamp (COBC) made history again when it became the first Bootcamp in Malaysia that conducts the warming up session for 3,200 runners at the Malakoff Run 2012 on Sunday, 16 December 2012. The Chief's Original Bootcamp was represented by the COBC owners themselves Dr Malek Aziz and Armin Baniaz pahamin accompanied by their lead instructor Sarge (COBC) Tom, Sarge (COBC)  Nawal, Sarge (COBC) Wan, Sarge (COBC) Chun, Corporal (COBC) Azmir, L. Corporal (COBC) Amir, L. Corporal (COBC) Affiq and the two Admins Farhanah Bamadhaj and Rose Emini Pahamin. The COBC booth was manned by the Reds, Blues and senior Greys and attended by thousands. The prominent grey spotted at the Booth were Afiza Abdul Halin, Maslina Ahmad Ismail, Sabrina, Stephanie Choong, Suzila Borhan, Han Lian, James Lee, Zaidi Ahmad but there were alot more COBC Greys that made the event more meaningful.

COBC is proud to collaborate with the Malakoff Run as part of our Corporate Social responsibility and in our effort to promote a healthy lifestyle the Military-Inspired way. As part of our collaboration, we conducted the warming up session for the runners to prepare them for the run. Our tomahawk haircut, commando-built lead instructor, Sarge Tom in his deep military and a strong voice projection took-over the microphone and led the crowd into a massive bootcamp-style group session after being introduced by the event Masters of Ceremony Kannan Murugasan and Adelle. Kannan M. was the man that brought me into Ironman triathlon and Powerman dualthon some 10 years ago.

With such a large crowd, COBC utilizes some of its most experience senior instructors with the ranking of Sergeants and its corporals to control the crowd.

PROTON PREVE!!

Much has been spoken and it has gone viral on some of Proton Preve's quality issues especially in the cybersphere but none was spoken of the corrective measure made on those issues. Yes, the first batch came out with a list of defect but Proton engineering team had immediately rectified those issues and if there were any other arising issues, the team would probably has resolved it or perhaps, is having sleepless night working on its solution as we speak.

If you do have any problem with your Preve, do locate the nearest service centre at HERE and have it rectified almost immediately.

Proton Preve is the best value for money for performance and is fixed with the latest gadget as part of its accessories. There is no better time to buy a Proton Preve but with the year end 5-3-5 promotion.

MONDAY MORNING BLUES

(Blogging with iPhone)

Morning blues...

It was at 7am.. Daddy was in the car waiting for his only child Aaraf to get his socks but after almost 10 mins of waiting there was still no sign of him. So daddy got out of his car and stood infront of the entrance door feeling upset and was furious for he didnt want Aaraf to be late to school. He heard Aaraf's crying calling Daddy daddy daddy.. Thinking he was in tantrum because Daddy insisted for Aaraf to wear socks to school and Aaraf probably couldn't find his socks, Daddy screamed loudly from inside the car for Aaraf to be quick!! There was still no sign of aaraf.. so from the main door, Daddy rushed into the room ready to scold Aaraf for being late and for what he thought was in tantrum but he instead, discovered Aaraf lying on the floor with the drawer upside down by his side... "Daddy it's so painful", cried Aaraf while both his hands holding his toe that was bleeding.. with tears flowing down his red cheek..

"Daddy.. help me...", cried Aaraf profusely with his voice stutter in pain and face wet in tears. My heart stopped... sank... but quickly went and hugged him tight. Aaraf could not stop crying. The Wooden drawer fell on his toe breaking his nail and cut his skin. He was in pain for almost 10 minutes while I thought he was in tantrum.

FIRST WEEK DOWN, THREE MORE WEEKS TO GO...

FIRST WEEK DOWN, THREE MORE WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE END OF COBC DECEMBER SESSION and what was the verdict?

I know I have been all praises of the world's oldest military inspired transformation program which I have been training with, for already err... now.. more than 3 years since it was franchised to Malaysia. The major significant different between the Chief's Original Bootcamp and that of other training program lies in 2 biggest factors!! The first being the program itself that was not designed by us khuchirack (we are so humble blek) but it was designed by the military-fitness specialist (Chief Brabon & his team in Australia). The Australia team has been designing the program for the past 21 (coming to 22) years now (it would be longer if we include their experience during those military days)!! Yes, after 21 years, the program has evolved into what it is today and those that have trained with COBC, the results is almost evidently imprinted into every recruits!! be it in physique or mentally through a drastic increase in self-confident as well as fitness. You know a COBC bootcamper when you see one!! They are full of energy with very high positive spirit.

Second, the owners and the group of admins has been and still is consistent recruits (just like you) with no sports science background and is completely separated from the team of instructors (whom possesses the best of credentials - some with Certified Sports Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)) which can only mean.. We are listening as a recruit and from a recruit standpoint!! Yes.. the owners and admin listens and understand the recruits by being a recruit themselve; and so does the Reds whom you see very often in Grey training alongside with you. With the real-life experience (by being one), COBC team can relate and communicate and balance things up with the trainers  on all grouses. This balance will optimize result while making it alot more enjoyable and fun. Every feedback, comment and grievances are taken positively as a room for improvement... so please keep the feedback and comments coming. Please complete our feedback-surveys (that will be emailed on 3rd week) or simply email us (anytime) at admin@bootcampmalaysia.com (Thank you to the few that has been emailing us such as the 'pee' and courteous issue which was important).

We had just completed the first week into the December-intake that began on 26/27 November and what does the recruit has to say? ....read for yourself below the few feedback/comments extracted from Facebook:

ARTISAN ROAST COFFEE, TAMAN TUN DR ISMAIL

Love at first sight was all me when I recently discovered the Cheese Cake and its Flat White Coffee at the Artisan Roast Cafe in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. I know!! I am so outdated!!

Literally artistic as per the cafe's name, I was served by the friendliest and almost everyone with the best looking tattoo. The welcoming ambiance and the friendly nature was as good as the taste of the cheese cake!! The cheese cake is really to die for and the coffee.... indescribable!!!

Well one wonders why does it cost RM299 for a one month session at the Chief's Original Bootcamp, Malaysia? I do not know why other bootcamp charge the same fee at RM299 or even cheaper (they know best how much their bootcamp is worth) but ours are charged RM299 for various reason and some of it were stated below:
  • The program is designed by former and currently serving Royal Australian Infantry soldier with over 21 years of military-inspired bootcamp experience (hence, the military-inspired training) that guarantees result in 2 weeks or money back guarantee!

BEATING THE ODDS AND THE BIG 'C'

(THE STAR, 18 NOVEMBER 2012)

KUALA LUMPUR: Being diagnosed with bone marrow cancer with only three years to live was not the end for businessman Armin Baniaz Pahamin, 38, but the beginning of a new experience in life.
Armin, who was diagnosed at the age of 15, is today the owner of the Chief Original Bootcamp (COBC) programme, which promotes a healthy lifestyle.
“I was given three years to live by doctors and my parents were devastated to hear the news.
“I refused to give up and instead joined fitness programmes and stayed healthy despite my condition,” he said yesterday.
While spending time in the gym, cycling and mountain climbing, Armin realised that he needed something more to stay motivated.
This led him to becoming a recruit of COBC in 2010 and he bought over the business a year later with his partner and fellow cancer survivor Dr Malek Aziz.
COBC is a military-style fitness programme designed by Jim (aka Chief) and Emily Brabon in Aus-tralia.
“I want to share my experiences, especially with youth, and show them that anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” he said.
Over 5,000 people have signed up for seven COBC camps in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
“I am proud that three of my recruits were voted finalists in the International 8 Week Challenge 2012 held here recently,” he said.
The public can also participate in COBC's Free Try-Out (FTO) Day at Ampang, Bandar Utama, Cyberjaya, Damansara Heights, Subang Jaya USJ1, Shah Alam and Penang.

BEATING THE ODDS AND THE BIG 'C'

The Star Online TV has the story...

The original clip is available at here.

Akin of a teenager experimenting the varieties of life to stay healthy. we did more than ten 42.2km Marathons (and more than seventy 10kms, 21km 30km etc), Cycling, Swimming and the Gym Group-X and Les Mills classes in particular RPM, Body Pump, Pilates, Yoga but could not  maintain the consistency in training momentum until I was enrolled at the Chief's Original Bootcamp. I was a recruit for a complete 1 year before we (Dr Malek Aziz and me) took over the franchise.

TRUEFITNESS GYM OVERSLEPT?

17 November 2012, Desa Sri Hartamas. Members at the Truefitness Club was furious when the morning gym-goer arrived at the club at 8am to discover the gym was locked and was not open. Many of the early riser waited but some had left in frustration. One of the club member that did not want to be named said, one of the staff at the gym called the management at 8am and was assured the person-in-charge would arrived in less than 5minutes to open the club.

When I arrived an hour later at 9am, after the supposedly opening time at 8am (for weekends), the gym was still locked and many had left.

THE GRAND CHAMPION FOR 2012 8 WEEK BODY TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE

The 2012 Original Bootcamp, Australia and Chief's Original Bootcamp Malaysia Grand Champion has been announced!! But before that, let us review the schedule of event that recently took place.

For 3rd consecutive year, Chief Brabon & Gunny Brabon had launched at the Original Bootcamp Head Office, the 8 Week Challenge for the year 2012. The 8 Week Challenge was first introduced in 2010, the year when Dr Malek Aziz and Armin Baniaz Pahamin first took up the license. Infact, it was launched only within a few months since COBC Malaysia' was first established in Bandar Utama. What is the 8 Week Challenge? For more information, click HERE. In short, it is an 8 week program that comprised of a 3x1-hour a week training at the Chief's Original Bootcamp (for 8 consecutive weeks), a set of home workout as daily homework and a set of diet meals to cook and eat daily for the whole 8 weeks - to unleashed your best physical being.

The result was portrayed at HERE.. See for yourself what these great people have achieved in a short span of 8 weeks.

After 8 weeks, everybody was already a grand winner having achieved their desired dream physical outlook and that is all that matters although a public voting was opened for the public to judge and assess the transformation of each Challengers. There were more than a total of 5000 votes for the semi-finals and we broke history when 12 Malaysians were voted into semi finals! Last year only Kym Wishnowski from Damansara Heights Zulu that was voted. This year, there were 2 recruits from Ampang Alpha platoon namely Han Lian and James Lee, 2 recruits from Damansara Heights namely Maslina Ahmad Ismail and Affiq Zakie. 3 recruits from Bandar Utama namely Umesh Narasimhaiah, Rienna Choo and Afiza Abdul Halin. 4 recruits from Penang with Simon Koay Qing Jie, Kwei Yee Wong, Ang Shi Qun and Abdul Azizam and 1 recruit from Subang Jaya USJ1 namely Marie Josephe How. Every recruit went on a wild voting campaign spree to canvass votes for themselves and so did I. I wrote and viral circulated almost 40 blogs in merely 2 days... but this time, I had a co-blogger Sarge Boon who is now a co-author of Stay Tune blog to get everyone motivated and aspired.

With the 85 Semi-finalist, the franchisees and licensees in Australia shortlisted via voting for 20 finalist but the results were so outstanding that the voters had difficulty to select only 20. They voted for 25 finalists instead. COBC Malaysia broke another history when 3 recruits from Malaysia was voted as Finalists!!! There were Rienna Choo, Umesh Narasimhaiah and Abdul Azizam.

THE 8 WEEK CHALLENGE FINALISTS LIST IS OUT!!

RECORD BROKEN!! The Chief's Original Bootcamp Malaysia broke history when three (3) of its contestants were voted into Australia 8 Week Challenge Finals!!! For more information on the 8 Week Challenge, click HERE. For more information on Chief's Original Bootcamp, click HERE.
From the 85 Semi-Finalist, shortlisting of the top 15 were pretty straight forward, it was only when Head Office were down to choosing the final 5 that things got a little tougher as the points spread was pretty wide. In the end the team settled on 25 Finalists (See below in Alphabetical order by first name). Three challengers from Malaysia made it to the Finals breaking Chief's Original Bootcamp/Original Bootcamp Australia history!! Never did any challengers from Malaysia that made it to the final. The three were Rienna Choo, Abdul Azizam and Umesh Narasimhaiah.
